GREAT LAKES CRUISE INDUSTRY APPLAUDS CANADA’S DECISION TO LIFT CRUISE SHIP BAN
Leaders of Cruise the Great Lakes, a coalition of states and provinces, cruise lines, ports, convention and visitor bureaus, and others working together to promote cruising on the Great Lakes, issued the following statements regarding the Canadian federal government’s recent announcement that cruise ships may enter Canadian ports effective November 1.
“This is welcome news to Cruise the Great Lakes members and the thousands of annual cruise ship travelers who visit Canadian ports of call,” said David Naftzger, executive director for the Conference of Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers, the organization that manages the Cruise the Great Lakes initiative. “Our members throughout the region can finally prepare for the resumption of cruising on the Great Lakes in 2022.”
